Rosa's Bday- A Hollywood Treat!

As noted- My friend Rosa celebrated her 37th birthday this past weekend. A group of friends celebrated by going up to LA. We stayed at the Kyoto Gardens in downtown on Saturday night. A nice view and a nice bellhop made the stay enjoyable. We had a sudden leak from the Air Conditioner on the top floor and so I discussed the reasons why our room should be half off with the manager; he agreed. The views were beautiful though. We went to a couple of places that night and got to bed at a fairly reasonable time. My favorite by far was Bordellos, a little bar with all red lighting. Quiet and carefree... On sunday we checked out at 1pm. We went to a great breakfast place and then headed to Carries friend Mels house in LA. While the girls met the new puppies and "enjoyed" the heat, the boys went and did some downtown t-shirt shopping before rendezvous at 7-11 for some added pick me up from Red Bull Icees. Off to the Hollywood Bowl where Barb and Merv had us SET UP! We had our own little VIP area with White couches and tables and a full spread of goodies.
What an awesome setting. As 1000s walked by into the bowl we enjoyed the weather and the friends in our own private little vip lounge. A truly great experience.

Once we went into the bowl Thievery Corp. played and the vibe was ELECTRIC. Everyone stood on the benches and DANCED. What a great time.

One of my favorite moments was when I was dancing in an aisle, just enjoying the hills and the beauty, and I saw off in the distance a white cross on the hill. Then I noticed another guy just kinda... looking up in the hills... enjoying it with me. The DJ yelled "hands to the sky!" ... and for whatever reason... me and this random dude just grabbed each others hand and just JUMPED! It was rad. Here is this normal Joe, here with a couple of friends; and without talking or needing to know who we were or what we were each about... we just... grabbed hands and jumped! After the song was over he went back to his party and I went back to mine, but it was... the environment.... that was just so awesome.

(The cross is on the right in the distance)
Everyone just was so happy to be in perfect weather, tucked in a hill, and listening to great music with great people. We got home late and slept little but it felt like everyone got a little gift on Rosas Bday Weekend.
