Flat Tires, Fireworks and Friends for the 4th

I hope wherever this entry finds you, it finds you safe and satisfied with a happy celebration of our nations independence day. To say it was a crazy 4th of July would be a massive understatement.

I woke up early to the sounds of Micheal Jackson... seriously. I walked outside to see the streets closed off, bounce houses in the streets... kids running around everywhere... DJs and dance parties... at 10am! The neighbors were out on their docks and Im a little upset I didnt go out on mine... but there was a reason...

Yeah... flat tire. So I had to change that up. But it was almost...ALMOST.. fun. Music was blaring and I was able to get some sun which was nice with the 80+ degree heat.

After changing out the tire... it was off to get Gas, ICE, drinks and some fireworks. I went to a booth in Garden Grove. BOY have things changed. I remember going as a kid and they would have all kinds of favorites... ground flowers... piccolo petes... snakes... But when I went this time they all had different names and were way pricey. Kinda got me down :(

But I got to Carries round 2:30 and we started to set up the party in the front yard.

Darren and I had a real hard time with that table. It had a umbrella in the middle that took us a while to get out. But after all was said and done... we got the table set up for our guests...

While we waited for nightfall... I watched the best Rivalry in Baseball (on the west coast). Dodgers... homos... err... giants. And BOY were there fireworks. Boys in Blue were down, came back, won it in a great fashion much to the delight of Darren and myself. Cheering in Carries house as the Dodgers moved within % points of first place on the 4th of July was just AWESOME! GO BLUE!

We spent time eating GREAT food for hours while enjoying the heat and the company. We had a makeshift badmitton net and great music blaring. AND we were the judges for the neighborhood bike parade, in which kids rode down the street and had decked out their bikes in patriotic ways. It was alot of fun!

Cory brought the fireworks... and I dont think that they were of the LEGAL variety... but what a show... Huge fireworks shot up into the sky and it made me feel like I was at Disneyland.

It really was an overall great holiday. I was with good people, having good food, remembering good times as a kid and making new memories of the 4th. The Dodgers beat the Giants, I made some new friends, and the fireworks were beautiful. Aside from that flat tire, it was one of the best 4th of Julys that you could ask for!
